Why is “Field Verification” So Important?

After receiving a metal roofing estimate, a homeowner generally trusts that what was estimated, is indeed accurate. However, prior to signing off on any metal roofing project, the homeowner needs to double check that the construction professional of choice has completed “field verification”.

Field verification not only validates dimensions of the roof so that a square footage may be calculated, but also verifies the number of roof sections, roof slopes, numbers and types of penetrations through the roof such as vent pipes, skylights, etc., as well as defining water management accessories in the form of valleys and flashings.

The benefit of field verifying assumption that developed an initial takeoff is that it leads to a job being done right, and eliminates awkward conversations with the construction professional about the need for additional material, and possible delays associated with material shortages.
